An activity is your actual track recorded during an outing, with details such as distance, time and altitude. Start when you press Start, end when you press Finish task. You can decide to save it, adding title, description, images, privacy and the type with which you have traced (enduro, mtb, trekking etc.). Once saved you can see it in the activity section of your profile.

Even when you are navigating a WHIP LIVE route, it tracks your activity which you can decide to save or not at the end of your ride.

Can I turn an activity into a route?

Yes, you can turn a task into a path. Just open the saved task and press "Add as a route". This way you can browse, edit or share it with other users.

A route can be created by the internal planner in WHIP LIVE or through the GDM scheduler. It can be created by passing points or importing a GPX file with at least one TRK (track) element. Each route can be navigated with turn-off indications, can be made offline, to be navigated even in the absence of a network and finally can be shared. Public routes can also be found in the explorer section of the app, while private routes can only be viewed by the owner or by whoever receives the route link.

Can I track and navigate at the same time?

Yes, when you navigate a route, you are simultaneously tracking an activity. You also have the option to stop browsing at any time and continue tracking without stopping the activity.

What is a segment?

A segment is a specific portion of an activity and can be created by a user from the activity detail page. Segments are used to generate Segment Rankings, which allow you to compare the travel times of different users on that specific stretch.

Each time you pass through a public segment, your time will be automatically added to the ranking for that segment.

If you create a segment now, you will also see the turnaround times of activities recorded prior to the creation of the segment in the ranking.

Note: Segments can only be created from an already saved activity.
